Should I get a new heat pump instead of repairing my old one?
- No More Warranty: Heat Pumps are newer technology for the most part and shouldn't really have many repair issues yet. We often see do-it-yourself installations where manufacturers do not honor the warranty claims if a part goes bad.
- Not Every System is The Same: Ordering a heat pump from a big box store or online usually doesn't support their products when something fails. We still help our customers with those systems.
- Expensive Repairs: If your system requires repairs that exceed 1/3 of the price of a heat pump replacement, we recommend replacement over repair. Some parts for generic system types cannot be economically sourced or are priced too high.
- Reoccurring Issues: If your system keeps leaking (which is shouldn't), or if a faulty manufacturer's defect causes senseless repair costs, it might be time to consider switching to a Stramowski preferred brand.
